The ROSE Campaign:
The Big Announcement

On Sunday, May 25, 2008, Paula Hendrickson, chairperson of the ROSE Capital Campaign, shared the following announcement.  Some details have been edited for public viewing on the internet.

“In early December, a Special Congregational Meeting voted overwhelmingly to undertake our ROSE Project and Capital Campaign. Over the past months, a Steering Committee, four Congregational Chairpersons and others have worked to organize the Capital Campaign, and make home visits. Most of us have received our visit, and 98 % of the resident congregation has responded in some way to the pledge campaign. In addition, we have mailed information and pledge cards to summer members and to friends of the congregation, some of whom have already responded, and others have told us that they will be responding positively to the Campaign upon their return North.

That said, I know that you are all very interested in our campaign pledge totals. We had set three goals in the ROSE Campaign.  If we reached the Challenge Level, we would be able to renovate the Sanctuary, the kitchen and fellowship hall, and add air-conditioning.   We had also included two modest mission projects as part of our capital campaign, believing that God blesses us as we bless others, and as a congregation, we have always thought of others even as we care for our local ministry here.

So – TA DA – the wonderful, blessed news is that we will be able to accomplish the entire proposed project. Thank you so much to each and every one of you, and congratulations on your faithful support of Renewing Our Spiritual Environment. Especially in our current economy, this is such an amazing witness about the vitality and faithfulness of this congregation and I applaud you !!!

Let me also make a very brief comment about the fact that we are over our pledge goal. I want to remind all of us that these are pledges – and not actual dollars in hand.   Over the next five years, there will no doubt be those among us who are not able to fulfill our pledges due to relocating or losing some of our members to death. So, it is very important that we all participate by receiving any additional outstanding pledges as well as all doing our best to honor the pledges we’ve made.   I know you will all join me in doing that.  In this way, this Campaign will truly be a success and we will be able to pay off our debt in the next five years.
Thank you again for your faithful response, and God bless you all.”

If you are just returning to Eagle River for the summer, please contact the church office and we will be happy to share with you a brochure which explains and illustrates the ROSE Project, and invites the participation of all members and friends in the campaign.  Together, we can make this vision a reality.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Paula Hendrickson, our Campaign Coordinator.  Contact information is available through the church office.
